Так. Після того як featured image вже майже готова, я б далі оформлювала блог у WordPress так само, як ми робили попередні Q-Team блоги. 1. Blog title / H1 Я б поставила: Business Central 2026 Release Wave 2: Key Updates for IT Managers Alt text: Business Central 2026 Release Wave 2 - key updates for IT managers

Business Central 2026 release wave 2: what changes for IT management

Microsoft has released version 29 of Dynamics 365 Business Central. This is the first update of 2026 release wave 2, with more than 80 new features. Below are the changes that make the biggest difference for IT managers.

More control over security and sensitive data

Two features that used to be optional are now turned on by default. Sensitive data can be masked on screen, so not every user sees everything in a field. The old SOAP web services on Microsoft’s standard pages have also been disabled. Do you still have integrations that run over SOAP? Now is the time to check them and move them to the APIs.

AI agents under better control

Business Central has more and more agents that carry out tasks on their own, such as the Payables Agent that matches purchase invoices to purchase orders. With this update, it is easier to set what an agent can and cannot do. All agent tasks are gathered in one task pane, and users can see on the page itself which content an agent created. That way you keep track of what happens automatically.

Administration and performance

Administrators can now turn SIFT indexes on or off themselves, which helps with tuning performance. Data from table extensions loads faster thanks to an improved data model. And with telemetry, you can now see how often and where users use “Open in Excel.”

Less manual work in testing and development

Page Scripting is now generally available. It lets you record actions in Business Central and replay them as a test, for example after an update. AL tests can run from the command line and in CI/CD pipelines. Through an MCP server, developers and AI applications can run their own queries on data that has no standard API yet.

Reporting and audit

Changes to financial reports are now always logged. Reports can be generated automatically, and multiple financial reports can be combined into a single PDF. The system fields that track who created or modified a record can now also be used in analysis mode.

What does this mean for the medical sector?

This release has no features built specifically for healthcare. Still, a few general improvements are especially valuable for healthcare organizations and medical examination providers. Because you can mask sensitive data, personal data is only visible to the people who really need it. Clear permissions for AI agents keep an agent from accessing data it has no business with. And because the system records who changed what, it is easier to show that you handle data with care. Medical data does not belong in your financial system, by the way, but in a separate record. That is what Dynamics Dossier was developed for.

When will you get the update?

Do you use Business Central online? Then you schedule the update yourself, no later than February 2027. Are you running on-premises on version 24 or older? Then you first need to upgrade to version 25 before you can move to version 29.
